Colored Light and Shadow


Assignment
Using Adobe Photoshop:
Based on the in class demonstrations create a photorealistic rendering of two primary shapes with light and shadow in matte white finish in an indoor photo cove type environment. (You may use a rendering you created previously in Vis 1)

Make a copy of the file of white objects and render each of the two objects in different matte solid primary or secondary colors.

With two renderings completed:
A)    White shapes in photo cove with shadows
B)    Color shapes in photo cove with shadows

create 3 new renderings of each by modifying the color on the rendering to depict  the objects in

1)     warm light / cool shadow ( yellow/orange/ blue violet)
2)     in red light with complimentary shadow
3)     in blue light with complimentary shadow

You should have 2 base renders and 6 variations when complete.


Technique / Materials

Adobe Photoshop. Render RGB file at 300dpi, 8.5” x 11”. Recommended: portable hardrive, wacom tablet.

Create a final JPEG render of each file and be prepared to review them on your own computer screen, plugged in to a monitor, or be ready to transfer them to another device for viewing.
